Hello Friends and Families of Belfast School
There is always so much to share with our community. Please check back weekly.
Remembrance Day Assembly:
On November 10th at 10 am, we will pause to remember Canadian service men and women who have sacrificed for our freedom. A number of our classrooms will be presenting during the assembly. Parents are very welcome to join us. We will also be collecting non perishable food items for the Veterans Food Drive next week Nov 7-10. Please click here to let us know that you will be attending so that we can put a chair out for you.
School Poppy Campaign & Veterans Food Drive
On behalf of the Veterans of Calgary we will be accepting donations which will bring aid and comfort to all veterans in Calgary needing assistance. By wearing a Poppy over your heart, our Veterans will see that their sacrifice was not in vain. In other words, they will know that “We will remember them”. We will be accepting donations on November 10th the day of our Remembrance Day Assembly as well, there is a Poppy box located in the main office. Please note: we will be accepting food donations (dry & can goods) for the Veterans starting Monday-Thursday. We thank you for your support.
More and more clearances have been processed for those parents that have filled out an application to become a volunteer for our school. Here is what you need to know for us to complete the process: If you went to a District office – CPS will mail you a letter of clearance to your home address – please bring into the school. OR if you completed your application through ePIC online - you will get a message from CPS that you can now go back into your email account and check your status – the applicant must “share” their results with Calgary Board of Education-Volunteers – our system will automatically upload every 30 minutes 24/7. Please note that if you wish to be a volunteer it is NOT too late please visit Kari in the office and she will gladly go through the volunteer process with you.

Skiing and Snowboarding Parent Input: Thank you to our grade 5 and 6 parents who responded to our poll (both digital and paper copies in backpacks) about the increase in price for the skiing / snowboarding program. A large majority of our parents indicated that they preferred the 5 day program to the 4 day program even though the price has increased from last year. As a result we will book the longer program and hope for great conditions at the beginning of March!

Thank you Belfast for coming to the family dance last week! With your help, we reached our goal of $10 000 and now we can build the school in Haiti! We raised $1400+ at the dance! Wow! In the last four years, parents and students have helped We Care Club achieve our goal and now more children in Haiti will get the chance to go to school. Thank you for your help and thank you for having a #belfasty time. We are grateful and humbled by your support.
Sincerely, The students of the We Care Club
