Hello Belfast Families & Friends!
The below is important events OR information that we want to share with our community:
Casino volunteers still needed!
There are still several positions that need to be filled.
If you can volunteer please click this link to go to our invitation page on SignUp.com. If you have any difficulty or questions please contact Lori Holford firstname.lastname@example.org or Amber Anderson Godfrey email@example.com
Grandparents, neighbours and friends are welcome!
There is no other fundraiser or group of fundraisers that comes close to raising the amount of money that is earned in a few short days during a Casino. November 23 & 24 are the casino dates and we need of 32 volunteers in total. There are a variety of jobs including jobs that don’t require volunteers to handle money. It can be a lot of fun and all volunteers receive a meal at the Casino restaurant. Think of it is a date night!
Some of the things our casino funds pay for are computers, smartboards, gym equipment, and residencies. Without this money it would be very difficult to have many of the amazing experiences students do here at Belfast School. For those families who aren’t able to participate in our other fundraisers during the year because finances are tight, this is your chance to donate time instead of money and feel good that you’ve contributed in a big way to your school!

Handmade products for example:
The costume crew for the winter production is looking for your help:
If you have a few minutes to spare or need something to do while you wait for your parent teacher interview, why not pick up a pair of scissors and cut up a t-shirt or grab a few strands of wool and braid it into a belt. Supplies and instructions will be sitting on tables in the hallways. We are also still looking for a few more white or off white pillow cases or bed sheets to be made into togas. If you have any you would like to donate to the production, there will be a box by the office to leave them in.
Thanks Sonya Robinson
Belfast Giving Tree
For the last 3 years staff and parents at Belfast have made Holiday Wishes come true for some of our families in need. Wishes for unidentified students are posted on a tree in the staff room and generous individuals fill those wishes and return the gifts to Belfast for distribution. Families can likewise contact the office to request that their children’s wishes be included on the tree. If you would like to be involved this year please contact the office (403)777-6250 by December 1. Drop off and pickup of gifts will take place the last week of school before winter break.
Dressing for the weather:
Our Calgary weather can be unpredictable at times and quite cold. We know that our students do better when they have the opportunity to go outside and get fresh air during lunch and recess. Therefore we are wanting all students to be dressed for the weather (warm clothing, hats & mitts) as they will be going outside whenever possible. We will only keep students inside if the temperature reaches -20 C (including wind chill). If your family requires support providing warm clothing or boots please let your child’s teacher know or contact the office at 403-777-6250 ext 0. We’d be happy to help!
Here you will find information emailed to parents via School Messenger. Each entry is a combination of a general message that was sent to all parents and a commercial message that was sent only to parents who have opted in to receive commercial messages.
